An aerial photograph taken on 30th December 1974 captures upper Moores Valley of Wainuiomata with Naenae also in view. What makes this image interesting is that the Strand Brothers’ tramline, running from Naenae to Moores Valley, is still visible some 60 years after it was abandoned. The freshly cut pylon track crossing this part of Moores Valley is also in view, along with the ECNZ Track along the ridgeline that separates Naenae and Wainuiomata.
