CITY WATER SUPPLY
FURTHER PLANT TO BE OBTAINED
The City Council last evening granted authority for the purchase of a Venturi water meter at an estimated cost of £330 for recording the amount of water passing through the new Orongorongo-Karori main, and further decided that a concrete mixer be purchased at an estimated cost of £250 for work in connection with the lining of the Orongorongo tunnel.
The Council refused the request of the Johnsonville Town Board to be supplied with water from Orongorongo. The Waterworks Engineer was authorised to proceed with excavation work for the purpose of laying a new 15in. main from Karori reservoir to the corner of Willis and Aro Streets.
