Circa 1941, looking towards Wainuiomata Primary School on what was then known as Wainuiomata Road (now Main Road). Next to the school is the Public Hall, and the bus parked outside a garage is now the site of the current bus depot yard. Both Homedale Road and Coast Road are visible in the scene, while Burdan Avenue had yet to be established.
