Looking at the valley that contains Nikau Creek and the Nikau Creek Track, (circa 2009). This is where the Whakanui Track once traversed which is now referred to as the Old Whakanui Track. However, the Waterboard successfully got the track relocated to the neighboring valley, where Sunny Grove is located.
