Looking towards the west along Moore’s Valley Road (in the foreground) and the Wainuiomata River, where the Main Road crosses from the left to the right. Adjacent to the bridge over the river lies Wainuiomata Primary School. The Village’ is non-existent.

The area seems to have undergone recent logging, likely conducted by the Sinclair family. They logged Moores Valley, Reservoir Valley, and the Hine Road vicinity. Their timber mill was on Moores Valley Road, but at the junction of Whitcher Grove which is outside of this photo. Richard Prouse and his family logged the Coast Road area which is visible in the photo towards the left and extending back to the hills.
