St John’s Anglican Church is located on Dick’s Hill, just behind The Village in Wainuiomata, at 119 Main Road. Although the building is now abandoned, it once served as an active place of worship. Among the reverends who served here were Mr Decandle and Ross Wards, the latter of whom also crafted the church’s leadlight windows.
Next to the church is St John’s Hall, which was originally used for services before the newer concrete block church building was constructed in 1983 and completed in 1984.
