The trustees in the estate of Messrs J. and D. Sinclair wrote, offering to sell the Council a locomotive engine for £300, which they stated was now in excellent working order, to enable them to carry on the Te Aro reclamation. On the motion of Councillor A. W. Brown, seconded by Councillor Petherick, the offer was declined.
