Wainuiomata was responsible for Mr. F. Whitley getting a basket of fifteen fish, the largest weighing 1½ lb, all in good condition. Mr. Neilsen, fishing in the same stream, secured a fine three-pounder, the best of a basket of four, all caught on a minnow.
Mr. W. Dimock, better known as a follower of the gun, and Mr. R. Hannah, jun., have both taken out fishing licences. The former has not, so far, had any luck, but Mr. Hannah, on his first attempt, killed a nice fish at Wainuiomata.
Wainuiomata was favoured with a nice light southerly wind last Saturday. Very few anglers were on the stream, however. One good basket was secured by Mr. J. Clark — viz.
