The Greater Wellington Regional Council has introduced a new track in Hine Road Recreation Reserve. This loop track extends from the bridge over the Wainuiomata River to Sinclair Cemetery and The Garden of Remembrance, depending on the direction walked. From there, it loops back to Gums Loop Walk, which is situated above Top Pool.
Ranger, Vlad Macoviciuc explained that this is not a new track, but an extension of Gums Loop Walk, designed to improve accessibility for wheelchairs, prams, and small bikes. Vlad also mentioned they were scoping a new track further up Reservoir Valley, to be built this year.
