After the transaction of ordinary business on Thursday evening, the City Council went into committee to consider tenders for the Wainuiomata dam repairs.

Nothing definite was decided upon, but it is understood that the lowest tender was considerably over £3000, and consequently above the estimate.

Pending inquiry into certain momentous matters, such as sureties, &c., consideration of the tenders was deferred.
