DOCTOR’S DEATH

FISHING FATALITY

WELLINGTON, this day. At the inquest concerning the death of Dr. Pigeon, who was drowned on Thursday while fishing at Wainuiomata, the Coroner, Mr. J. H. Salmon, returned a verdict of death by drowning, the circumstances pointing to the conclusion that the deceased accidentally slipped and fell into a deep pool from which he was unable to extricate himself.
