The completion of the Wainui-o-mata dam formed the subject of congratulation to the Wellington City Engineer, Mr Morton, at last week’s meeting of the Wellington City Council. The Mayor said it was a great engineering feat, and the first of its kind, he believed, attempted south of the line (reported the Times).
A high standard of engineering had been reached in this work, of which the city had every reason to be proud. The Wainui dam now held 120,000,000 gallons of water.
