This is a photo of a private hut in Catchpool Valley, Wainuiomata. The valley used to have numerous private huts for accommodation for those trekking into the Remutaka Forest Park. While these huts are no longer present, the area now offers a campground with toilets, showers, and gas barbecues. The Catchpool Centre is available for bookings, functions, conferences, and family events. Though there are no huts in the valley today, many still exist in the nearby Remutaka Forest Park and Orongorongo Range.
