Coast Road Church as seen in 2023.
This historic Methodist Church in Wainuiomata mirrors the design of numerous early colonial churches in New Zealand with its rectangular shape, approximately 42 feet 8 inches in length and 20 feet in width. Initially constructed with just two bays, roughly 30 feet long, it was extended by an additional bay in 1873 to reach its current length, including the addition of a vestry. The front porch, situated on the building’s east end, was likely added around 1882.
