This 1958 photograph looks along Hine Road including Sinclair House to the right. Sinclair House was built in the 1860s, and as Hine Road was later formed, new houses were gradually constructed around the original homestead. At the bottom right you can see water pipes crossing the Wainuiomata River at the end of what is now called Richard Prouse Park.
