Scholes Creek flows into the Wainuiomata River in the Camp Wainui area. The creek has numerous arms that feed into the creek that originate on the slopes of the McKerrow ridge. The creek has at least one waterfall and has an accompanying track called Scholes Creek Track. The creek also fills up a swimmable lagoon in Wainui Camp. The name ‘Scholes’ is derived from the family who originally owned the land before selling it to the Boys Brigade Organisation in the 1940s.
