Sledge Track Creek follows a historic forestry track in Wainuiomata Regional Park.
Sledge Track Creek is situated at an estimated elevation of 188 meters above sea level. Featuring several branches, it flows down a hillside before merging with the Wainuiomata River. The river is named after an old forestry track, Sledge Track, which dates back to the 1880s when logs were transported by sledge. Today, this historic track remains a recognized walking trail, and the creek runs alongside it for roughly a quarter of its course.
