A first person view of Morepork
This trail is challenging and technical, featuring a gradient of grade 5+ to 6. It’s characterized by steep, rocky terrain and includes several precarious chutes and drops. It is not recommended for beginners, particularly in wet conditions, and is best suited for riders with 160mm+ enduro or downhill bikes.
To access the trail, head up the steep road leading to Towai Towers. Starting from the junction of ECNZ Road and Mt Towai Road, continue up this steep road. After navigating a sharp left at the second corner, you’ll notice an opening in the bush on your left.
There’s also an alternate entry point at the intersection of ECNZ Road and Mt Towai Road.
Upon reaching the end of Morepork and encountering a fence, turn left and then left again. You’ll need to walk your bike over a small rise to reach Wainui Road.
