The Mount Crowther Track winds through the Harry Todd Recreation Reserve in Wainuiomata. As a firebreak, the track is quite wide but can be steep and slippery after rain. The track begins at Sunny Grove and connects to Harry Todd Track where you can exit on Willis Grove or Hine Road.

Starting at Sunny Grove is advisable in wet conditions to reduce the risk of slipping on the steeper sections as heading uphill in this location is easier than walking down the slippery surface. Once the track reaches Mount Crowther Trig and other high points, it levels out along a ridgeline where it connects to Harry Todd Track and Mckerrow Ridge Track.

Harry Todd Recreation Reserve features a mix of regenerating native bush mixed with pine trees, the latter being planted after the hillside was logged in the 1850s.
