– £91.10.0 extra excavation ordered by the surveyor

I have mentioned the matter to the city surveyor but no satisfactory answer has been received.
I beg respectfully to request an early settlement.

Re Mr Oakes Claim.
The only item in dispute as far as our office is concerned is the one of £94.10.0 under the schedule for extra work. This claim should be £25.0.0. I have since seen Mr Oakes & he agrees to take our measurement. The item £21.10.0 is for Inspector’s wages. I am afraid if he disputes it in Court he will obtain judgement against us as there is nothing in the specifications which entitle us to deduct for Overseers wages. The Council have already agreed to half the amount so that really the amount in dispute is £26.5.0.
