Rock Pool is located in Richard Prouse Park, near the driveway entrance off Hine Road. Its name comes from a prominent rock visible on the ground beside the Wainuiomata River. At one time, a road/ track from Moores Valley Road connected with a ford that crossed the river just upstream from the pool. Some of the photos in the gallery below show this road and ford.
