Looking towards Sugarloaf Hill, which rises from the Coast Road valley in Wainuiomata and extends over into Gollans Valley on the other side. The hill takes its name from the traditional sugar loaf, a solid cone of unrefined sugar once commonly sold before modern refining methods. The hill’s conical shape closely resembled these loaves, inspiring its name. Below lies Baker’s Farm.
