The Garden of Remembrance in Wainuiomata, situated within the Hine Road Recreational Reserve, was established in 2004 specifically for ash burials. Nestled in a picturesque natural environment, this location also shares proximity with the Sinclair Cemetery, which holds historical significance as the original resting place for the Sinclair family. The recreational area is owned by the Hutt City Council whereas, site where Sinclair Cemetery is located is owned by the Wellington Water Board.
