City Council
An ordinary meeting of the Wellington City Council was held last night. Present – His Worship the Mayor (in the chair), Councillors Danks, Allen, Maginnity, Fisher, Brown, Thompson, Logan, Greenfield, Diver and Young. The report of the Public Works Committee (which has already been published) was read, and the clauses considered seriatum. In regard to the clause recommending the lining of the Wainui-o-mata tunnel, the City Surveyor said that the extra cost thus involved would be upwards of £5000.
