An interesting view of the top of Sunny Grove in 1969, showing the Black House, at least four water tanks (there are currently two left), belonging to Skerretts Creek Water Catchment, and surrounding homes of the time. The firebreak that follows Sunny Grove can be seen leading to the Black House with a branch leading to the house at the street.
Two water tanks are also visible near the firebreak or access road to the right, and are believed to have been used for firefighting storage. Further down the property, a swimming pool can be seen, which may have formed part of the fire fighting system. It is known that there were two weirs in the catchment, one of which was dedicated for emergencies use such as fire protection.
