The Peter Burgess Lodge Complex is the main accommodation area at Camp Wainui in Wainuiomata. Opened in 1989, the complex was named after Peter Burgess, a longtime supporter of the Boys’ Brigade and Camp Wainui.
The complex is made up of four separate lodge buildings arranged around a central dining hall. Together they can accommodate large groups, including schools, church camps, youth organisations, and outdoor education programmes. Each lodge contains bunk rooms, bathrooms, and shared living spaces, while the dining hall includes a large kitchen and communal eating area.
Set within the bush covered valley of Camp Wainui, the lodges provide easy access to walking tracks, open fields, streams, and recreational facilities throughout the camp. The complex has become one of the main hubs of activity at Camp Wainui and continues to host camps and group events throughout the year.
