Tony Falls is a remote waterfall hidden in the bush behind Sunny Grove, Wainuiomata. It lies on a steep, unnamed tributary that branches west from Skerretts Creek, between the waterfalls commonly known as the Lower and Middle Falls. The waterfall comes into view roughly a quarter of the way up this tributary.
The waterfall was identified by Tony Weir, who noticed it marked on a 2019 topographical map. No reference to it had been found on earlier maps. Tony Weir and David Johnson reached the waterfall during an expedition on 4 May 2026, approaching from the top of Sunny Grove and following Skerretts Creek upstream. It proved taller and more impressive than expected.
There is no formed track to Tony Falls. Reaching it requires travelling directly through Skerretts Creek before entering a narrow, steep-sided tributary. The terrain is slippery, exposed and difficult, particularly around the waterfall itself, making it suitable only for experienced adventurers.
