On 2 July 2026, a scour discharged excess water from a pipeline connected to the Control Valve Building on Reservoir Road above. Following several days of heavy rainfall, water was released through the pipe creating this temporary waterfall flowing into the Wainuiomata River.
This is a testament to the heavy rainfall the area has experienced over the past month. Despite once living nearby and spending many years exploring the area, I had never seen this temporary man-made waterfall before.
